Was born in 1959 in Paris. Lives and works between Paris and Bali.
Helgen’s globe are made from a combined amalgam of ancient recycled teak roots and resins. For his black globes, the artist, who lives between Bali and Paris, also uses volcanic sands from the black beaches of North Bali. The final shape of the globe is adjusted to the beauty and the imperfections of the piece of wood.
